BACKGROUND
The company focuses on developing innovative voice experience, providing techniques and UX solutions of creating Voice UI for current Apps, to let users easily complete tasks like navigation, social, entertainment, food/ticket ordering by voice.

Voice Twitter
Voice Twitter is an IOS App for users getting, listening to, and composing tweets all by voice.
Voice to tweet allows users to post tweets by speaking.
LEAN UX PROCESS
We perform the Lean UX design process. We started from rapid developing the minimum viable dialog flow, then conducted usability testing to collect feedback and learn user needs, then keep iterating and testing to improve the conversational ux.

DIALOG FLOW 1.0

PROBLEM & FEEDBACK
I analyzed conversation logs, and invited 5 users for on-site testing and interview. It turns out users are not satisfied with this flow, only few users successfully post the tweets. I collected some typical feedbacks.
Low successful posting rate, only 12%
Most users replied "No" when asked if ready to post.
Low user satisfaction, only 3.6/10
The dialog flow can not meet usr needs for posting tweets.
"I don't know what the tweets would be like."
"I want to check if the App gets my tweet right."
"I didn't expect the system quit when I said No."
"I want to make change."
INSIGHTS

Users want to check the content before posting.

Users have the need
to edit tweet contents.
SOLUTION
1. Repeat user's input for confirmation

2. Add tweet change flow
Ideation 1: Ask one more turn for whether want to change the tweet.

Ideation 2: Ask directly for content change.

3. Provide screen UI for visual clue and multimodal intercation
Voice technology still has the limitation in recognition accuracy and complicated tasks like editing contents. I proposed to provide screen UI, so users have the visual clue about what the tweets would be like, and have the option to type and touch when their hands are available.

ITERATION
1. VUI: ask whether to change tweet more natural and friendly.

2. GUI: provide more visual prompts.

DIALOG FLOW 2.0 WITH SCREEN UI

IMPACT
With the Dialog flow 2.0 and screen multimodal launched, the user satisfaction grade and successful posting rate all increased remarkably. We are happy to see many tweets posted by Voice Twitter each day.

RECLECTION
Lean UX practice: improve from imperfect
We are building a new product idea, with the new technology, also I am new in this field. Compared with traditional linear design process, Lean UX makes the design, development and iteration process run much more efficiently. We defined problems, and make design decisions all based on real user feedback. And we are keeping iteration
